EVA foam, full name Ethylene-vinyl acetate, is also known as Polyethylene-vinyl acetate. It is a material that stands out for its high elasticity, lightness and softness. There are three types of EVA, which differ in their vinyl acetate content, namely expanded rubber, foam rubber and EVA foam. The material also has a specific network structure, thanks to which it has properties such as lightness, softness and flexibility, shock absorption, UV resistance, crack resistance and others.
Uses of EVA FOAM
EVA material is used in various industries and on various products. For example in medicine (medical implants), in the industrial sector as cushioning padding for sports clothing and equipment (hockey helmets, cycling seats, fishing rods, floats). However, this material has found its greatest popularity in the field of hiking and outdoor activities. It can be found on the soles of running or outdoor shoes or as padding in backpacks, where it absorbs impacts well.
