Specification
The fourth generation tactical torch with the designation Fenix TK35 Ultimate Edition V2.0 delivers a light output of up to 5000 lumens (ANSI) and a wide smooth beam with a beam distance of up to 400 metres. These specifications are achieved thanks to three high-performance LED Luminus SST-40. The torch is recommended to be powered by two 18650 li-ion rechargeable batteries or four CR123A batteries. In an emergency, two CR123A batteries or just one 18650 rechargeable battery can be used. With these, however, the highest modes will not be available. The torch is equipped with a rotary control, which can be used to lock the controls or select one of two usage modes. In tactical mode, the torch can be switched to 3500 lumens or to strobe with the same output. In duty mode, you can choose between five brightness modes (30 - 350 - 800 - 2000 - 5000 lumens) and strobe. On the lowest mode it can shine for up to 85 hours. Thanks to the side-by-side battery arrangement, the torch is surprisingly compact and fits perfectly in the hand. The precise and waterproof design according to the IP68 standard makes this tactical light primarily suitable for demanding outdoor conditions. It will serve security forces well in search and rescue operations, as well as for hunting and other outdoor activities.
All torch specifications (light output, battery runtime, waterproofness, beam distance and impact resistance) are measured in accordance with the ANSI/NEMA FL 1-2009 standard.
Specifications:
- Three high-performance LED Luminus SST-40 with a lifespan of 50,000 hours are used.
- Eight power modes in total:
- Tactical mode: 3500 lumens (1.8 hours) → strobe 3500 lumens
- Duty mode: 5000 lumens (1.7 hours) → 2000 lumens (2 hours) → 800 lumens (4 hours) → 350 lumens (13.7 hours) → 30 lumens (85 hours) → strobe 3500 lumens
- Runtime is measured with rechargeable 18650 li-ion batteries with a capacity of 3000mAh (not included in the package).
- For power supply, you can also use 4 pieces (in an emergency 2 pieces) of disposable lithium CR123/CR123A batteries or 1x 18650 li-ion rechargeable battery. With these, however, the highest modes will not be available.
- Textured reflector for a smooth wide beam with a beam distance of up to 400 metres (40000 cd).
- Digitally regulated for constant brightness.
- The torch has memory and will always switch on in the last set mode (does not apply to strobe).
- Switch for quick strobe activation.
- Protection against accidental reverse battery insertion (polarity reversal).
- Made from aircraft-grade hardened aluminium type A6061-T6.
- Trapezoidal threads highly resistant to wear.
- Durable hard-to-scratch surface - Type III hard anodised.
- Impact resistant to drops from a height of 1 metre.
- Waterproof according to IP68 standard (to a depth of 2 metres for 30 minutes).
- Tactical switch at the end of the light (momentary on/off function).
- Dimensions 14.3 cm (length) x 4.3 (reflector diameter).
- Weight 202 grammes (without rechargeable batteries).
- Hardened ultra-clear glass lens with anti-reflective coating.
- The torch comes with a hand loop, case and spare O-ring.
- Batteries are not included in the package.
Use:
The torch offers three modes. Switching between individual modes is done using the rotary wheel, which is located at the end of the light.
Duty mode - to switch on, press the main torch switch. Then, with further short presses of the smaller button (located in the centre of the rotary control), the modes cycle through in the order 30 - 350 - 800 - 2000 - 5000 lumens. To activate strobe, hold the smaller button for approximately 1 second. To switch back to steady light, press the smaller button again or switch the torch off and on. In duty mode, the torch remembers the last set mode except for strobe.
Tactical mode - to switch the light on and off, press the main switch. In tactical mode, only the 3500 lumens mode is available. If the torch is switched on in tactical mode, you activate strobe by pressing the smaller button. Pressing it again deactivates strobe.
Lock - the third position on the rotary selector locks the torch and it cannot be switched on - useful, for example, when transporting in luggage. The torch can be locked in both the off and on state; locking also switches the torch off. Locking is signalled by a continuous green-red flashing of the indicator LEDs in the button, which can help, for example, to find the torch in the dark. The lock indication can be switched off or back on by holding the smaller button for 3 seconds.
Switching the torch on directly to strobe mode - press and hold the smaller switch on the rotary button; strobe will be active for as long as you hold it.
Intelligent overheat protection - when the temperature exceeds 60 °C, the torch automatically gradually reduces power; after cooling below this threshold, the highest modes will be available again.
Battery capacity indication - when the torch is switched on, a coloured LED indicator in the switch lights up for 3 seconds. If the indicator LED lights green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. Green flashing means 50-85% capacity. If it lights red, the battery is charged to 25-50%. Red flashing indicates that less than 20% battery capacity remains. The indication only works correctly when using Fenix 18650 rechargeable batteries.
Low battery warning - the torch automatically gradually switches to the lowest power mode and the indicator LED in the switch button begins to flash red.
Warning:
- Do not disassemble sealed parts of the torch yourself, as this will void the warranty.
- Never use different discharged batteries or batteries with different capacities.
- Use only quality batteries and rechargeable batteries to prevent damage to the torch, for example due to leakage from the battery.
- If the protective rubber rings appear damaged after prolonged use, replace them. The rings should also be lubricated to prevent rubber erosion. By following these rules, the torch will be properly protected against water.
- If the torch flashes, does not switch to higher power modes, or does not light up, it could be due to one of the following reasons:
- Batteries are almost discharged - replace them.
- Contacts inside the torch or battery holder are dirty - clean them with a cotton bud soaked in alcohol.
- The torch body is loose - apply lubricant to the sealing rings and tighten.
Warranty: Five-year warranty.
