This axe is a beautiful hybrid with many uses. It has a straight blade and sharpening and a good finger notch for better precision. The long, thin and ergonomic handle minimises weight whilst providing perfect striking force. The axe is ideal for building shelters, working wood or chopping and other precision work. It is simply the ideal companion for the forest. The axe is hand-forged and made from Swedish forged steel in the smithy of Hults Bruk. The tradition of forging dates back to 1697 and the head itself is forged 40 to 60 times for better hardness and blade durability. The axe was named Aby in honour of the nearest village to Hults Bruk, where many workers were employed in the mid-20th century. With proper care, the axe will serve you for many years. Thanks to quality craftsmanship, the axe head comes with a lifetime warranty.

The heads of hand-forged axes and hatchets from Hultafors may in fact vary slightly in appearance from those shown in the gallery, which is inherent to this processing technique.
