Husky Bizon 3 Plus from the Outdoor range is a free-standing double-wall tent with an internal durawrap frame and a vestibule that takes all your luggage — and lets you cook when the weather turns. A vestibule you can cook in

A substantial part of the 410 cm total length is taken up by the vestibule — rucksacks and panniers fit in it and you can sit out the rain there with a stove. Two entrances mean a way in for each of you and better ventilation. The 7.9 and 8.5 mm durawrap poles are flexible and, unlike fibreglass, do not splinter into sharp ends if they break; a steel peg set anchors the tent reliably.

Taped seams and a 4,000 mm water column

The 185T polyester flysheet has a polyurethane coating with a 4,000 mm H₂O water column and taped seams. The breathable 190T nylon inner tent with mosquito mesh keeps air moving, and the 190T polyester groundsheet with a PU coating has a 7,000 mm H₂O water column. The fabric has enhanced UV protection. A storage pocket for small items and a repair kit are included.

Pros and cons of the Husky Bizon 3 Plus

✓ Pros: a large vestibule that can also be used for cooking, two entrances, a total length of 410 cm, flexible durawrap poles, taped seams, good value for the size.

✗ Cons: a weight of 5.2 kg suits a campsite rather than a rucksack, the 4,000 mm water column is lower than in the trekking ranges, the steel pegs are heavier than aluminium ones, and the 130 cm height does not let you stand up.

Husky Bizon 3 Plus light brown is the newer generation of the same model. Husky Bizon 4 Classic offers room for four. Husky Baron 3 from the Extreme Lite range also has a vestibule with a floor, but is lighter and has a higher water column.
