Husky Felen 2-3 from the Extreme range is a free-standing double-wall tent with an external aluminium frame, a 7,000 mm H₂O water column and a special flysheet fixing system. Flysheet held by a mix of sleeves and clips

The flysheet is held on the poles by a mix of fabric sleeves and clips: the sleeves spread the load along the whole pole, the clips allow quick pitching even with gloves on. The 7001 aluminium poles measuring 8.5 mm are threaded from the outside, so the bedroom stays dry even when you pitch in the rain, and lightweight aluminium pegs anchor the tent in strong wind.

Ripstop polyester with a 7,000 mm water column

The ripstop polyester flysheet has a polyurethane coating with a 7,000 mm H₂O water column and taped seams; the ripstop grid stops any tear before it spreads. The breathable polyamide inner tent with mosquito mesh carries moisture and condensation away, and the polyester groundsheet with a PU coating has an 11,000 mm H₂O water column. The fabric has enhanced UV protection.

Pros and cons of the Husky Felen 2-3

✓ Pros: a high 7,000 mm water column with taped seams, a vestibule for gear, quick and easy pitching even in bad weather, sturdy 7001 aluminium poles, room to spare for a third person.

✗ Cons: a weight of 4.8 kg is high for a two-person tent, a packed size of 50 × 20 cm, the 130 cm height does not let you stand up, no snow skirts, and three adults find the bedroom tight.

How it compares with related models

Husky Felen 3-4 is the larger version for three to four people, 1.2 kg heavier. Husky Falcon 2 has two entrances and snow skirts. Husky Flame 2 is 1.4 kg lighter, with a lower profile but no vestibule of this size.

For pairs on high-mountain expeditions and treks who want a durable tent with a proper vestibule and do not mind the extra weight. If you need room for three or four, choose the Felen 3-4.
